Privacy policy
Effective 20 October 2026. This policy covers the Prosedoc desktop app (the "Prosedoc IDE") and the account you sign in to it with. It does not cover the separate web app at prosedoc.ai.
Who we are
Prosedoc is made by JP Whitney and Associates, LLC ("we"). Questions or requests about your data: privacy@prosedoc.ai.
The short version
- Your project files stay on your computer. Prosedoc does not upload your documents, drawings or models.
- We keep an account so you sign in once and your settings follow you: your email address, your name if your sign-in provider gives it, and the small amount of data listed below.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking tools.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account: email address; with Microsoft or Google sign-in, also your name, profile picture link and that provider's account id. | To create your account and sign you in. |
| Sign-in records: times of sign-in, and the IP address and browser information of sign-in requests, kept in our sign-in service's logs. | Security, and to stop abuse. |
| Devices: a random id for each installation, its computer name, platform and Prosedoc version. | To show where you are signed in and sync between your computers. |
| Synced settings: your Prosedoc settings, installed apps, recent project names and their folder locations on each computer, and the window layout of each project (which tabs are open). | So your workspace follows you between computers. |
| App data you choose to sync: small items that an app with the "Sync through your account" permission keeps, such as personal tasks in Prose List. | So those items appear on all your computers. |
We do not collect the contents of your project files, your conversations with the AI (the AI runs under your own account with your AI provider; Prosedoc only reads conversation titles on your computer so you can resume them, and they never leave it), keystrokes, or usage analytics.
Sign in with Google or Microsoft
If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your email address, name and profile picture link from them, and use them only to create your account, sign you in and show who is signed in. We don't ask for access to your files, mail or contacts.
Prosedoc's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who processes your data for us
| Service | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, sign-in, the synced data above, and Prosedoc and app downloads | United States (East) |
| Resend | Sends your sign-in code emails (your email address and the email itself) | United States |
| Google, Microsoft | Sign-in, only if you choose them | Their own policies apply |
Your sign-in session is stored on your computer in Windows Credential Manager (or the system's equivalent), not in plain files.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and synced data while your account exists. Items you delete in Prosedoc are marked as deleted so the deletion reaches your other computers. Sign-in logs are kept by our sign-in service for a limited time.
Your choices and rights
- See or correct your data: email us and we will send you what we hold.
- Delete your account: email us and we delete your account and everything synced with it. Your project files on your computer are not affected.
- Sign out at any time from Prosedoc's account menu.
Children
Prosedoc is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in Prosedoc for any significant change.
